PokerStars Online Tournament Series
PokerStars runs a number of tournament series throughout the year. The series' boast multiple events with a number of different entry fees. Tournament leaderboards also award cash and prizes to the top performing players.
The World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) began back in 2002 and featured a modest 9 events with total prize pools of $730,000. The series now runs every September. The 11th edition of the WCOOP saw 65 events and over $55 million in prize pools.
The Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) was the second ever tournament series offered by PokerStars. Starting back in 2009, the first version paid over $40 million over 66 events. The 4th edition played out over 120 events and gave out over $65 million.
The SCOOP is played every May and features high, medium and low buy-ins for each tournament offered so players of all bankrolls and abilities are able to participate.
The Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP) began in 2012 and features a series of turbo tournaments that offer up massive prizepools. Held every January, the second edition of TCOOP featured 50 events and gave out over $50 million.
New newest tournament series offered by PokerStars, MicroMillions runs 3 times per year and features small buy-ins with large guaranteed prizes. The first MicroMillions ran in March 2012.
MicroMillions IV, which was completed in March 2013, featured 100 events with guarantees topping $5 million. Event #1 carried a buy-in of just $0.11 and had a prizepool of $43,504.
