5 Card Stud

One of around 20 different card games you can play online, 5 Card Stud is one of the oldest forms of poker and featured in iconic scenes on the silver screen. Players each pay an ante then receive one down card ('in the hole') followed by four up cards. Stud is usually played with a Limit structure.

5 Card Stud is played with max 8 players due to the number of cards dealt out.

5 Card Stud Rules - Second Street

On second street each player pays an ante and the player with the lowest up card also places a forced bet known as the Bring-In. Action starts left of the bring-in.

How to Play 5 Card Stud - 2nd Street

In this hand Hero raises ('completes') with 8♥ in the hole and 8♦ showing. Villain calls.

Third Street

Action continues with the player with the best up cards showing, 8♦ 2♥

Hero bets, and villain calls.

Fourth Street

Action again starts with the player with the best up cards8♦ 2♥ A♠.

Fifth Street

Action again starts with the player with the best up cards8♦ 2♥ A♠ A♦.

Hero bets with a pair of Aces showing, and villain folds without a showdown. Any rake is deducted from the pot.
